CREATE WITH CLAY!

Venue: Festival Market, Bachelors Walk

Admission: €5 per activity- clay modelling/potter's wheel- or €8 for both. No booking necessary, pay at the workshop. Suitable for children & adults. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.

Make an exciting piece out of clay or try your hand at throwing a bowl on the potters wheel with Wicklow based artist Christien Van Bussel....

At the workshop you can make your own bowl on the wheel or craft a piece with air drying clay. A variety of tools will be available to decorate your piece with interesting patterns and textures. Before you take it home you'll get some tips on how to paint and varnish it so that your finished work of art will be ready to take pride of place on the mantlepiece!

Christien has a wide experience in teaching both adults and children. She organizes pottery classes in her own workshop in Aughrim and in schools around County Wicklow. Her own range of modern ceramic table ware and woodturning (below) will be on display during the festival.
